We all have a similar story. Someone has a bright idea: Let’s go XYZ and do 123! Everyone is excited and the group starts with ten — until it’s time to book.
Here are some tips on how to manage expectations and (hopefully) execute that #FriendsTrip.
Start Early But Not Too Early
Listen. You need enough time to find affordable accommodation and flights BUT the hype can build in an instant and die just as fast. From my experience, the sweet spot is usually about three to four months.
So, if you’re a hyper-planner like me, don’t be surprised if the trip you planned two years ago doesn’t get an ounce of attention until the last minute.
Speaking of planning, someone’s gonna have to do it and dear Travel Enthusiast, it’s probably going to be you. But, if you’re serious about getting the group together, grab the nearest calendar and a cute planner and get cracking.
They’ll probably want to know where you’re going, how you’re getting there and most importantly how much it’s going to cost, right off the jump. It’s best to have these answers prepped.
ProTip: Take into consideration the person with the lowest economic status in the group. First of all, you want to be inclusive of all of your baes. Secondly, if they can’t make it, it’s probably too expensive.
Get The Hype Friend Onboard
Like all new events, a hype team is necessary to create and keep the energy going. This is exactly why influencer marketing is such a profitable industry!
Once you get a couple of persons who are committed, it’ll be a lot easier to convince the masses.
I’ll be looking out for those group pics, fam.
