If you’re Jamaican or have Jamaican friends then you already know that Jamaicans are quite possibly the most jovial people on Earth. I was first introduced to the “Macaroni” character by dancehall artist, Popocaan, on his Instagram page.
In the video Poppi posted, a male falls off of a bike in dramatic fashion. The video’s audio is the real gem though: “Weh Macaroni ah guh? Weh Macaroni ah guh? Wey de bomb****** wrong wid Macaroni?! Macaroni ah madman!” Another onlooker shouts “A cyaan Macaroni!”
The action on the first (and original) video below starts at the 57 seconds mark. The other videos are the popular parodies.
“Weh macaroni a guh” might be the funniest viral moment outta Jamaica. 🔥

My daily experiences are now shaped by a person I don’t know and who half of Jamaica is trying to figure out his path.
1. Got an email with a ridiculous request.
2. Went to pay something & someone tried to skip me in line.
On both occasions I thought
“A weh Macaroni a go?”

If you grew up in rural Jamaica, there was always that one driver whose skills were legend in the community. That was macaroni. That’s why the young woman sounded so distraught in her disappointment. “A can’t macaroni 😢”
